i got a buddy who has a very nice lookin 89 chitty 3/4 ton and he is always giving me greif about my beat up old 76 ford 3/4 ton so last night he was over flippin me greif when i finally said the bumpers match dont they? he gave me a confused look and i said well if the bumpers line up and i know they will lets play a lil game "IF" that chitty of yours wins you get my truck or "WHEN" the undertaker(my truck) wins i get your truck.. he ask what i wanted to do and i told him we will have a push off... after much hip heehawin around he finally agreed so around 10 pm last night we locked bumpers needless to say i now have a chitty!!! i pushed that darn thing almost a full city block before i figured i had made my point then all of a sudden he had all these excuses and i said bring me the title chump!!
there was a buch of other guys around and he got sooo much crap but he brought me the title today!!
Way to go. It really wasn't fair though. I mean come on he HAD(lol) a Chitty. Just better get rid of that thing before you get a reputation as a chitty owner.
Suggestion: Find the blue book value and sell it back to him or donate to a charity for a tax write-off. If that doesn't work there is always the scrap metal yard.....
Well you could do that stuff, but even better, why not just give it back? I mean, he is your buddy first of all, and secondly, now whenever he drives it he will know that the Chitty he used to praise so much got it's butt towed around, and it probably won't drive the same anymore after taking that abuse. And tell your friend "Now who has the beater?"

i agree with everyone. you should just give him back his truck. you got the better truck, and i bet he was pretty embarssed to see his truck lose, espcially around a bunch of other guys. you proved your point to him. i dought he'll shot his mouth off anymore. id also laugh if he went out and bought a old 76 ford 3/4 ton like yours!LOL!
Congrads tho on the win! these old fords of ours can kick some serious butt!

Lol, I got a friend who owns another ford who wants to go bumper to bumper with me, mines a 93, his is an 88. I'm pretty sure I'd win. We both have a strait six, but i have 4 wheel drive, 5 speed, Long bed. He's got a short bed, C6 2x4.....I think i'd take him with leverage alone not to mention the lower gearing. But I'm not about to try it, i like my truck and dont wanna hurt it

Dang, draggin' for "PINKS" is still alive...
Son, you made us all proud!!!
Sure, give it back to him- but for now it's yours, right?
So give it back with a new bumper sticker:
~ The one with "Calvin" (from Calvin and Hobbes) peeing on a chevy logo!!!
Or in either case, an "I (heart) my FORD" sticker...
Come to think of it, have you got a Club FTE sticker around that you can spare?
Truly spoken: "It is well to ensure that ones truck runs better than ones MOUTH..."
During metal shop class, Robert had just finished tightening down the ball on a drop hitch he made for the reciever on his early 80's Chevy 4X4 shortbed. It had a 4-6" lift with 35-36" tires and was quite showy compared to most of the other student's "first rides"; chrome rollbar, lights, aluminum wheels, etc. We were all huddled around the back of his truck checking out his work and I said, "Before you paint your hitch, Robert, how bout you test it by yankin' on my ol' Ford a bit after school?" A few Ford/Chevy battle words were exchanged, but he was convinced that it would be no contest since my 1969 F250 was only a 2wd, but he happily agreed anyway. He was always "pimping" other kids to have a tug-o-war with him, but no one else ever went through with it for one reason or another. But I had a secret weapon that I knew Robert was too stupid to figure out--leverage.
I had anticipated the completion of his hitch and got prepared the day before by re-installing the 5th-wheel hitch that came with my truck and adjusted it to the maximim height which was close to the top of the bed rails. I also threw-in a 12-ft tow strap and removed my normal trailer reciever hitch to make it seem as if the 5th-hitch was my only point of anchor.
When school was finally over, we met down at the lower stadium parking lot (vacant) which had well-packed gravel despite all the ruts from other student's "doughnuts". Worried that a faculity member might show up, we quickly hooked our trucks together with the strap. He locked-in his hubs, I manually put the C6 in 1 (what else could I do?), slowly took out the slack in the strap, and we started pulling. I started out at about half-throttle and the truck started jerking and shaking. I figured I had lost traction, but I increased throttle anyway and figured I could dig a hole so that he could at least not pull me backward, but to my amazement I started moving forward shaking & jerking all the way to about 50 feet when I saw his brake lights come on which was our signal to quit.
According to three of my Ford friends (the only spectators at the scene) and the minimal amount of evidence in the gravel, my truck did not spin a wheel; it was Robert's truck that was bouncing around on all fours that was causing all the jerking in my truck. While Robert was looking under front of his truck and checking the hubs to see if it was somehow not in 4-wheel, I was unhooking the strap and asked the guys not to say anything to anyone about how I had it hooked up which effectively took weight off his truck and added it to the back of mine.
As I drove off, I said to Robert, "Good welding on your hitch, Rob, it held up to my 390 pretty well; I guess you can paint it now?!" I had to go easy on him because he was a 6'4", 275lb center. I doubt he ever figured out what happened, but he never "pimped" for a tug-o-war from anyone again.
hey yall
well i gave him back his truck but not before i made a few mods..usin some of yall advice i had another buddy paint on the tailgate "BEATEN BY A FORD" and in the front of the hood "DONT FEAR THIS"
