High milage signs?
My 302 has started making funny sounds when under heavy load lately, I'm hoping its just a bad oil filter, right now its some no name that I got on the shelf because it was all napa had at the time, white container, claims it meets or exceeds new car warrenty blah blah...would it be worth it to just change the filter? The sounds it makes is all top end, almost like a knock but more like a ticking sound, and only between 1600-2800 rpm, anything above or below that it is smooth and pulls strong...I'm pretty sure its not carbon build up because I drive my truck pretty hard (I love seeing those brand new dodge pickups go to pass someone on the interstate and before they start moving a HUGE cloud of carbon cr@p poops out of the tailpipe, then WHAM the truck is off and flying...LOL) That's never happened to me, even when downshifting to 3rd on the freeway to pass people...
