ok here it is, i have a 85 f250 diesel and the coolant temp wont come up properly. I just changed the thermostat and no difference. My question is, is there a way to check the temp gauge. ( the needle does move but not much off the C on the display.) my other questionis does anyone know where the temperature sending unit is located on the engine so i can check it? I just cant seem to find it.
Thanks for the help

two thoughts:
factory gauges are crap & only use the Ford thermostat. i forget exactly why, but most aftermarket 'stats are incompatible. i have the Ford part# if you want it.
oh, third thought. there is a checkball in the 'stat housing that should be clear of obstructions.
ok i now have changed the sending unit that is under and to the left of the ac pump and have still got no response from the gauge. I did use a ford sending unit as the replacement. STill Stumped
