1990 F150 Auto Tranny Vibrating (3aod?)

A question for the pro's

I have a 1990 xlt lariat f-150 with a 302 efi in it. Whenever the tranny shifts from first to second gear or downshifts there is a loud vibrating noise coming from the tranny. I have checked the tranny fluid and that is fine. A mechanic friend of mine said the the automatic eaod(or something like that) that is in my truck are pretty much worthless but it may just need a band ajustment. Any help you guys could give me would help me out. THANKS!!

Vibrations are torque converters more often than not. I would get it in to a tranny shop ASAP and have it checked out before it ruins the tranny too.
