Lokar shifter

Have a 1965 F-100 with a 1970 390 with C-6 trans. Shifter (very cheap one at that) has been cut though the tans hump. I want to put a Lokar shifter in but not sure which one to get. the mounting location is what is getting me. I think I need the tail mount one but never done this so I not sure. Anyone done this? Any help would be great and many thanks.

I have a 23 inch Lokar in my 66 F250. I have the 352 mounted up to a C6, it used to have the 4 speed with a granny low. It is not the tailmount, I think the part number was.
<TABLE borderColor=#ffffff borderColorDark=#ffffff width="100%" borderColorLight=#4e4e4e border=1 mm_noconvert="TRUE"><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" width="25%" height=17>ATS60C6A</TD><TD width="75%">AUTO TRANS SHIFTER C-6 23"</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
I am not positive as it has been a year or so since it went in,
Good luck!! they work great.

I bought the Lokar Nostalgia shifter for my 65 F100 which has a C6. I'm in the middle of installing it, but I'm a little confused on where the left side bracket mounts to the tranny. The shifter brackets didn't come with instructions. TRIUMP, are you able to post pictures of your setup, specifically how it bolts to the tranny?
When I bought my shifter, they said it would work fine on the C6, but at that time I didn't realize they had a "tailmount" version. The more I look at the "tailmount" version the more I think it would fit better, but maybe that's just because I'm having issues with getting my brackets to fit.
Thanks

Tailmount Lokar

Used a tailmount on my c-6 behind a 460 Lincoln.....in fact I fabricated a bracket to move it even further back!!! This way it hugs the seat when in "Drive". It's a quality unit, no slop and well worth the extra bucks. Just gotta read and follow the install sheet to the letter......removing the **** follows a specific procedure.....saves time tinkering around to get the detent correct. My $.02.

I am going to look for pictures of it installed. (I just dont remember where i put them!).

I remember we could not use the tail mount shifter in the 66 because you couldnt get it into 1st gear (or 2nd for that matter) with the tailmount.
It would hit the stock bench seat. (this is just my setup). I am sure Buckets would be a different story.

Triumph, any luck finding photos of how the shifter bracket mounts to the transmission? If not, can you describe which bolts on the transmission the shifter side brackets attach to?
Thanks.

Not yet...I must have ditched them when I got my new camera.
AND...My truck is trapped at the shop still, because I tried to cut corners with LMC weatherstripping........Dennis Carpenter to the rescue!
I will make sure to get try and get a good shot from underneath (The carpet is already installed). As soon as I get the truck back (Hopefully by Friday!).

Sorry for the delay.....
