coolant

Does anyone know what kind of coolant(antifreeze)I should use and where I might get it. What is the capacity. 1990 ,F-250 , 7.3 L 5 speed.
Thanks for the help

Go to Ford and get VC 8 heavy duty coolant. 3 gallons of that, two bottles of DCA4 and three gallons of distilled water.

The coolant is a low silicate formulation that is good for your diesel.

I just used premixed JD coolant from the local John Deere implement It wasn't as expensive as it is now though. I got 18 gallons for 121.98 back around 2001. I think it was a goof or the doubled there prices!

i use a 50-50 mix of green antifreeze about 3 gallons, with 1 pint of napa cool anticavatation addative per flush.

I am sorry, VC 7 A is the antifreeze, I crossed a row when I was looking up the part number on my worksheet.

You really should use a LOW SILICATE coolant. Regular green doesn't cut it. If it doesn't say low silicate on the bottle, don't use it.
