Oil Leak

Hey there,
I was installing my MBRP exhaust last night and I was looking around while I had it on the lift. I noticed that I had an oil leak at the left front of the truck. It appears that the front lower intercooler pipe is leaking oil. I just had the oil changed in the truck at the Dealer less than 700 miles ago. Up until that point I have not had any oil leaks. I checked the oil level and found it was above the max line. I have been changing the oil myself but I like to get to the dealer every once and a while. The truck has about 3200 miles on it. Is this going to damage anythign? Is the over full oil the real cause of this leak? And next time I go to the dealer should I tell them that itonly tkes 14 qts. even tho they should know that? I am not sure if a diesel tech changed the oil in the truck as they do have a quick service section for oil changes only. I have never had any problems with the truck until now. Thanks for the help.

Dang, no other answers??

I'd drain out some oil so it's below the max line (middle of hatchmarks), wipe off the oil spill & keep an eye on it..

When you go in for your next change, specify how much oil you want added.. They can add 14 qts & check it & then add more if necessary..

Good Luck,

Russ

You won't get a BS answer if you take the Service Bulliten number with you.

I am not sure what bulletin you are referring to, the one that says that it only takes 14 qts of oil or a different one. I dont usually have the oil changed at the dealer. I do it myself at work so that there is a record of it and because I dont put that many miles on it and I do it every 3 months anyway. Jackofalltrades do you think that the over full oil is causing this. Like I said I dont think the lube guy was a diesel tech. As it was the fast lube guy who did the service. Thanks, Andy
