I have a quick question about our for sale thread..... I have some stuff that I wanna sell, but I ONLY wanna sell it to somebody in KS..... in order to sell something on this board, do I HAVE to put it in the classifieds first, or can I just post it in our for sale thread.... as I said, I don't wanna sell to anyone that's "far away" just b/c of the fact that everything I"m wanting to sell is big, and expensive to sell. The rules are as follows:

1. As per FTE's guidelines please post all for sale items in the "classified"section.
2. In this thread you may mention what you have put up for sale and post a link to the item(s) from the classified section.
3. When item sells please post back to let everyone know it is no longer available.
4. Again do not use this thread for negotiations or further information, use the email or PM system to discuss items.

Items listed in the thread need to be listed in the FTE classifieds. Posting items that are not listed, may be removed.

As far as not selling to someone far away, mention in the classifieds that buyer must pay shipping or that you are not going to ship it and the buyer must pick it up.

Ryan, That is one reason we started the thread was because their are a lot of items that would be best sold locally. Like you said the things are big and bulky and not easily shipped. Remember though there are some people that for a good deal will be willing to pay for the shipping and others may know people in the area that can pick them up then transport them to the buyer. Say you see something you want to buy and you or someone you know may be going through that area.

In order to meet the guidelines of FTE and be able to keep the thread alive we must follow certain rules that I stated in the 1st. post of the thread. The main one is that the item needs to be posted in the classified area then you may put a brief description and a link in our thread. The other important one is to conduct further negotiations by email or private message. This keeps it clean and easier to search.(yes I know I have screwed up and broke the rule myself). Another thing is we need to be informed when the item sells so that we may remove them. I would like to keep the thread small and to the point in order to help everyone. That way you do not have to search through a whole lot of BS to see what is available.

Posts that do not meet the guidelines will be marked and then removed. Also we will go through the thread periodically and clean out the ones that are either real old or sold. This will keep it clean.

If everyone will please work with me on this then we will be allowed to keep our "For Sale" thread alive and working for all.

Thanks for the Info rollie..... I started this thread for the reason of me not wanting to "fuddle up" the for sale thread, but still get info from multiple people, and I also didn't wanna break any of the rules..... I thank you both for the great info..... it y'all would like, feel free to delete this thread.
