If I dont get back to a post within a day or so use the message function to remind me . A Mass Air Flow sensor , If your truck has it , I cant recall right off when they were first used on the F150's is located on the air intake hose , it will be mounted directly after the air filter housing . They have wires that over time accumulate dirt & reduce their function which in turn can cause the pinging you describe . It is possible to clean them using an electrical part spray cleaner but be careful with them because if you break them you have purchased a new sensor . First verify that your truck has Mass Air Flow Sensor .
THANKS FOR REPLYING PAUL
YES IT HAS A MASS AIR SCENCER
THE WIRES U ARE REFERING TO ARE THEY AT THE PLUG?
ITS LOCATED ON THE INTAKE PLUMBING NEXT TO THE AIR BOX
SOMTHING NEW TO ADD TO MY DELIMA WHEN I DROVE IT TODAY
THE TEMP OUT SIDE WAS 91 AND I WAS ON THE FWY DOING 60
OR SO I GAVE IT A LITTLE GAS AND IT PINGED. I HAD THE AIR C0N
ON THE GROUND WAS FLAT AND MOTOR TEMP WAS NORMAL.
IF U LOOK AT MY FRIST POST ON THIS PROBLEM YOU WILL SEE
WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FARE AND THE CONDISHIONS THE TRUCK
WAS RUNNING UNDER.
ITS TICKEN ME OFF
THANKS
MARC
Marc , I understand you want your truck running correctly , but you dont have to post using all capital letters , it just makes it hard to read .
Remove the Maf from the air intake hose , once its removed you should see two thin wires , Use the Electrical Contact Cleaner Spray to clean them . Reinstall it & see how it runs .
