Are the front cab supports the same between unibody and non unibody. The reason I ask is that there is a rust free 63 CC standard cab at a local yard. I have a 61 unibody that has had some poor body work done. The drivers front cab support is bent a little and the door sill has been replaced. I'm looking at doing the job over the right way. The previous owner managed to stretch the door opening 1/2" when he welded in the door sill. I'm thinking about chopping that whole section out of the donor and putting it in mine. Any help or advice would be apreciated. Thanks Rich.
Would it not be easier to move the cowel and floor pan. Smaller, less complicated welds and you could re work the donor cab supports by turning the cowel over on a couple of saw horses. Just a thought! Those kick panels and door supports are a PITA to replace on the truck.
