Everyone would like to make a few extra bucks in their spare time, right?? I'm not talkin about hundreds a day (that'd b nice!!). I'd just like to be able to get a little extra cash to have in the ol' wallet. I was lookin at a couple of them "get paid to take surveys" deals but I dont know if it'd be worth it. So waddya guys do to get a little extra mula, share your tips, advice or just complain about how there's never enough money!!
i also looked at them surveys. i have not had very good luck in the past with them "more money" gimmicks. i used to be a succor for them and always got ripped off. the way i see it, i wouldnt have paid to work at the job i currently have, nor will i pay for a job in the future so i will not pay for anything to make more money. (except maybe a lottery ticket or two)
Part-time small engine repair on the side. Pays for the goodies likenew tools, cell phone, the occasional mod to the truck, adult beverages, walking around money.
Deliver Pizza!! It is low stress, depending on the neighborhood; you can make $30 or $40 in a night, and when you are hungry just ask the cook for a slice or a sandwich. If the boss is a jerk, just quit and go to another place. I did that job once, worked for a Dominos store while I was between regular jobs and I had a good time.
Another good deal, so I've heard, is janitorial work. My friend Tom has been doing that kind of work for twenty years at night or early morning. He is a full time employee and does highly skilled work at an military electronics plant. But at night, he gets out the broom, mop, and toilet scrubber and cleans for private businesses. He can make 160.00 bucks for about three hours work. He might work an extra ten hours a week, and stick an extra 200 to 250 in his pocket.
Find something you enjoy and do reasonably well. I work on computers....not the smartest guy that ever touched a keyboard but I can fix the sorts of problems that most people have, and don't charge nearly what a "real" tech would. Makes me a few bucks for the cars, and saves them a few too.
I belong to a "legit" survey outfit. Do about 1 to 3 surveys a month. Last year I made about $80. Neilsen paid like $1 when I did that, (we kind of lost interest after a few years - it's hard to remember to write down everything the family watches. Takes the relaxation out of it.)
Thing about it, they find you and don't take applications. I don't consider it extra money.
There are marketing research companies that do pay more. You go in and they ask questions, they send a check. Usually $10 or $20. My wife usually made more, because I don't use cosmetics or feminine hygene products. They have one at a mall in Portland. Pays for lunch
I think the best thing that I have found for the couple extra bucks is definately computers. I am actually a full time sales manager for an internet retail company but also have my MCSE in Win 2k. Since the market is such highly saturated in this generation with computer geeks, I decided to defer from that field as my career. Lately though I have been picking up a few jobs around time and average billing is $100 per hour for computer tech work. It is definately something to get into if you can get your name out there especially if the city government picks up on it...
I likes to mow me some grass ever now and then. Actually since I work shiftwork, I marshall at my neighborhood golf course. $5 an hour, but all the golf I can play for free. And I just recently started helping out a friend that owns his own business. $10 an hour cash. Cash talks on spare money
There is this place near a college in Philly that used to pay students to be guinea pigs for drugs, creams and patches...I'm not even joking. Students go there so freely, they barely solicit.
Oh, I forgot to mention the best part-time job I ever had!!! Join the Navy Reserves, you will see the world , and make about 250 bucks for a weekend. I am not Joking! See your local recruiter, and they will give you the scoop.
Taxi driver. I drove here locally for a couple of years. Just started out 3 nights a week after my full time day job. Pretty decent money. Average $100 a night for 8-9 hours driving around town. Best night was New Years Eve. Went home with $403.00 after lease, fuel, food. Some cities don't have very strict laws concerning taxi companies. All you neede was a taxi license and take a physical. Where I live now doesn't even require that. Sure isn't like NYC or Vegas.
