Alright, I was considering buying and installing a set of headers...looking at JBA or Bassani. I know that the bolts that hold the stock exhaust manifold have quite an affinity to breaking. My question is what are the tools that you'd need and how would you remove a broken one without messing up the threads?
Also, is 100,000 too many miles to make headers worth it? I plan on having the truck for quite a while longer.
I installed headers last summer with no problems. I was sure nervous when I was doing it that's for sure. My V10 only had 25K miles on it then. I soaked and soaked them. All the studs came out with no problems. The manifold collectors were a different story. Needed axcetelyne to heat it up enough to get thse bolts loose.
Just be vary careful and do it with a steady hand and apply uniford pressure. It if fealls mushy,,,, hope and pray. I took out the stud with air ratchet. I set it very low to avoid applying too mcuh torque. Nice and steady. I but on banks headers.
