On my 87 I have been having problems with the throttle going stiff if I shut my engine off at a gas station or store or something. It takes a few minutes of driving before it returns to normal operation. This is both annoying and potentially dangerous because the throttle can become stuck open if you give it gas when it is stiff. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it the throttle cable or the linkage on the throttle body?
Hi, try spraying some lube on the cable my 84 did the same thing the best thing I found for it was called One Lube pentrating oil plus silicone so it stays lubed. John
can u ever get it to feel stiff or freeze or wutever when the truck is off, if so, disconnect the cable while its stiff and see which one (throttle body, or cable) is stuck, i bet its the cable, try oiling it if it is
