Red face Another question about prop shaft

Hey all...

This question is about the rear prop shaft. Getting ready to replace original due to age and lift kit issues. Can anyone tell me how I can or what I can do to deal with the angle probs I got from the lift (4")? It is a cv type shaft. I have been told that a new one will be able to handle the angle but if I can do something or add something that would give me some life expectancy to the shaft I would really want to do that.
As always, any info would be GREATLY appreciated!

The stock CV style shaft just can't handle that much lift, and I don't think there's much you can do about it. The CV joints also serve the same function as a slip yoke in a traditional driveshaft, and they just don't have enough room to stretch that far effectively. About the only effective "fix" is to replace the CV style shaft with a double cardon u-joint style shaft (be careful, many people will refer to a double cardon u-joint as a "CV joint", so make sure you know what kind of CV joint you're talking about). Any driveline shop (there are a couple online) should be able to fix you up.

i took mrshorty's advice and got myself a double cardan shaft
it took 4 cv style shafts to change my mind .

if your looking for a u-joint shaft i have a single cardan driveshaft sitting in my garage.
this driveshaft is for a lifted b2 in the 4in to 5.5in range. pm me if interested.
