I have an 04 Super Cab FX4 with a 5.4/auto. I have done the exhaust(Flowmaster) and K&N cold air system. I would like to do a programmer next. I would like to be able to adjust it for mileage/highway, performance(most of the time) and tow mode. I feel the tow mode is a must since I tow a large (6000 LB.) boat several hundred miles a few time a year. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
Unless you grossly overload your truck, towing that 6k boat, provided you have tow pkg. shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise make sure you install a transmission cooler.
As for tuners, it seems the Diablo Sport & SuperChips are the popular ones. Check out the "tuner" thread at the top of this forum (highlited in RED), there's some pretty good info there.
