Well my DSL has been down since last week. I was having FTE withdrawals so I decided to fire up the dial up modem. Needless to say I have read one thread and posted this all within about 20 minutes. I am sorry to say I won't be much help in over taking those Gerbil ranchers of the great NW. Atleast I have got some work done around the house and have also discovered that there is life out there besides the internet. I hope to be back up and running in a few days.
What you can't have a life outside the internet!!! That would really bite to have to go back on dail-up after having broadband. Well do the best you can we'll put up a fight while your out.
Whoa sorry man that must be bad. Though if you have a good clean line and can get 50kbs or so it is not real bad. I've seen some that can only get 20kbs and even less.
OUCH! I remember the dialup days, and they make me cry. I have the Roadrunner premium 8meg/sec download's. I do alot of downloading and things on the net, plus I have 7 computers running 24/7 on my home network and need access to the net for Folding@Home and my electric bill kills.
Crap its snowing! So much for Spring being here.
Switched from dial up 4 years ago or so and will NEVER go back. Finally switched parents a year ago and they love it. Hardly use it but they still love it.
I thought it was supposed to rain in spring not snow??
You guys are making me feel like a dinosaur. I'm still using dial up cuz the only other option out here is cable and I hate what I pay to *** just for expanded basic cabel tv without another big chunk for cable to the puter. One of these days I'll figure out another option. Flip, is a feed through a cell phone a feasible option?
Satellite's slower than cable and DSL, and last I heard, about the same price.
I don't like what *** gets out of me each month but I'd sure hate to give it up, and it counts as a business expense so we can get part of it back from taxes. I don't think I could handle going back to dialup....that would suck. I think I'd give up computers and internet completely first.

We dropped our home line and bought a Dock n talk.. You put your cell in the craddle and all your house phones go out through your cell phone... (Saving us $40 a month.) I was wondering if a dialup modem would work through it... I guess I'll have to try and see... I'll keep you updated.
Well I'm still on dail up. I've been playing a little solitaire between posts. Pages seem to be loading faster than the fisrt night I was on dail up. I must say FTE is a a very dial-up freindly site compared to some of the others. Guess I'll have to wait for the DSL before I start frequenting the **** sites again.
