Sorry I must have converted wrong, thinking the CDN dollar was worth more then the US.<?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /><v:shape id=_x0000_i1026 style="WIDTH: 11.25pt; HEIGHT: 11.25pt" type="#_x0000_t75" alt=""> <v:imagedata o:href='\\"https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/images/smilies2/rolleyes.gif\\"' src="file:///C:/WINDOWS/TEMP/msoclip1/01/clip_image002.gif"></v:imagedata></v:shape><O I show multiply 3.22/gal/CDN by the rate of .82 giving me $2.64/gal.<O I guess I'm just used to buying American money and converting at the higher number. Thanks ehhh<O
87 Octane is current about $2.20 - $2.30 /gal around Birmingham.
I heard on the news it is expected to be at about $3.00 / gal in Alabama this summer. That means some places here in the US will be at $3.50+ / gal.
I still think we are about to see a major drop in demand for full size truck / SUV.
We have been thru this cycle before. I just don't think gas will drop back down to a more palatable level as it has in the past. I don't expect to see it below $2 again.

if that's the case, hopefully we'll see a drop in full size truck / SUV prices all together. I'm already driving a fullsize and am used to it. I only want bigger and badder later in life.
....however.... I think i'm going to hold off my *tangible* dream of getting a navigator, and hold on to the truck as my daily driver instead. Lately i've been dreaming of a 64 ford fairlaine, with a 428. I'm learning about the 427 cammer also, a very rare engine that put out 657hp from the factory back in 64.....
Then we can talk gas prices....
When gas hits $2.50, to put 20 gals. of gas in your vehicle, it will cost you $50. Fifty dollars for an almost fill-up. I agree with Brian, the "under $2" days are gone. In fact, I believe it will hover between $2.50-$3.00 all year round.

If we all REALLY want to affect prices for fuel, let's vote positive for oil field development in ANWR (ALASKA NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE). The animals are NOT hurt by such development, and modern engineering/construction practices are closely monitored by DNR and the Army Corps of Engineers. Anybody who has ever actually BEEN up on the North Slope can attest to the huge, healthy herds of migrating caribou, polar bears, birds and other critters. DOMESTIC OIL is available, and then we don't have to depend on OPEC markets.
