? about interchangability

I know a guy that wants to sell me a doghouse, steering column, gas tank, and just about anything on a truck which I believe is a 1979 which is an explorer, and I am wanting to put it on ym 1976 ford f100. A question I have is there a difference, will it work, he is selling it all to me for $100.00 for basically anything I want off it. What about the steering column and power steering and pump? I know most likely the doghouse will work there isnt a difference, but what about everythnig else? Thanks everyone for all the help, I think if they do work, my truck will be complete. thanks again for all the help.

If they are both 2wd F100/F150 the column and power steering parts will fit. There are two different gas tanks (refering to the rear tank behind axle) look at the filler neck behind the fender. There is a large tube and small tube, make sure the small tube is on the same side for both trucks.

What's a dog house have to do with a pickup?

The doghouse is the hood, fenders, and front end.

The truck I believe is 4x4 so the steering column wont work, cause mine dont have power steering, will the steering column itself fit, why wont the pump and all work what makes it different.

If they both have the same engine, the pump will work. The steering box may work, if they are both the same type truck - 2wd, 4x4, F100/F150, F250 ect. Need more info to be sure, 2wd and 4x4 steering is very different.

I dont know much more about it, mine is NOT 4x4 but the other is, there both manual tranny, the engines are different. I dont know whats in that one but mine is a 300. So I guess I wont need the power steering, but will the steering column itself work?
Cant I just take off the 4x4 stuff and make it work on mine? or does it work that way? What info would you need? heck I just might take it out just in case its only costing me so much for anythnig I want.
