My alternator quit charging the other day, I took it off and it checked out good. I need to know which post should have power with the key switch off, and key on. I only have power with the key on to one of the wires. I was planning on making a jumper wire from the top post of the alt. to the other post. Thanks.

The Red terminal is hot
The Stator terminal is live with the key on.
The field terminal has power to it
