Ultimate Mud Truck

Im building a mud truck out of my 1991 F150 and I plan on competeing in both the mud bogs and the mud drags. I have transplanted a 545CI big block with dana 60 front axles and Sterling 10.25 rear axles. This is because i plan on running some large tires (36 inch to 44 inch classes) and I need the bigger axle shafts to handle the tires. If you're just playing around in the fields, I would keep the tire size below 35 inch for the stock axles, run a good tranny cooler if you got an automatic, put new spicer ujoints in all your drive shafts and front axle shafts, put new gear lube in your front and rear differentials. Then I would drive it until something breaks and upgrade from there. Aint no sense in spending money on something that aint broke yet unless you plan on getting really crazy with it. If your going to go crazy with it, buy a 1 ton F350 and start with that. It would be cheaper in the long run, beleive me.
