I ordered a set of OE fender flares off of ebay. It took an excessive amount of time to have them sent to me. b/c the shipping label supposedly came off. I eventually got them, mounted three, but one was warped so badly it would not stay on. So I had to ask for a replacement, the guy at the company told me to try to reform it with a hairdryer, I did and it didn’t work. So I called back he agreed to send me a replacement, express shipping. I got the tracking number but when I called fed ex they said they had only gotten an electronic transmission, never the actual package. So I called the company back and the same guy I had been talking to said it was fed ex’s fault, they must have lost the label. He would call them and call me back. He never called and when I tried to call him the message said they were closed for the day, not to open again until Tuesday. On top of that, I came to find out from fed ex the label they had was for standard home shipping not express. So I have a trip coming up this week, my new truck has 3 flares and three mudflaps and is drilled for the fourth. I just needed to vent.
Did the OE flares need painting or did you order FX4 type?My neighbor bought a new F150 Lariat and one of the four wheel lip mouldings on it was FX4 type.I think it took 2 weeks or more for new flare to come in, then it had to be painted.Good Luck!
I think the FX4 type look great on Silver. You know, that ebay guy sounds kind of fishy. If he gave me to much trouble I would send them back for a refund and buy through Ford or somewhere reputable.I have ordered off ebay, but have always been leary. If I were you I would call my credit card company today (now) and explain situation.I had something similar happen one time with a steamer gizmo. The credit card co. held payment to seller until everything was squared away.I could not believe how much help they were.Good Luck and keep us posted!!!!! Oh,I just thought of something.Maybe you didn't use a credit card?
I didnt pay with a card. Yeah ive considered sending them back, but ive already drilled my truck, if i do send them back ill have to put somthing there, i was trying to save some $$$, by buying them off of ebay, it was my first time, i trusted this guy b/c it was through his company and he had good feedback. Anyway, if im displeased after the next time i talk to him i may just send them back and shell out the extra cash.
I ordered some off of Moss motors and they did not cover the front top of the bumper, they were supposed to make a piece to fix the problem but they never would return my messages. I sent them back, I was out the shipping though. I am less than impressed with the quality of the aftermarket parts that I have seen.
blue 2004 FX4, I am feeling the same way.Warped, missing parts and poor quality make me very leary/skeptical about ordering aftermarket anymore.Good Luck!
