• I purchased a 97 5.4 expedition with 83,000 miles. The person before me needed his battery jumped if he wouldn't drive the truck for week. Before I bought it he replaced the alternator and then the battery. The battery died today and was only 4 months old. I put a battery from my 4.0 Ranger in the Expedition and it fired right up. If I buy a new battery should I be concerned about it dying after a few months? Has anyone had bad wires or shorts? What would have cause the battery to only last 4 months if the alternator was new also?...

You must have a power drain somewhere. There was a thread here a few weeks ago on searching for different causes of this drain, some obvious, some very non-obvious. Try a search on the forum for some good ideas.
