I read somewhere yesterday that the TPS can be adjusted to optimize power for racing. Can someone fill me in on this procedure since the drag strip opens Friday night and I need to see what my winter beater can do.
Thanks, Chad

This is the way I do it on my Mustang. Use a digital volt meter, ground the - lead of the meter, back-probe the green wire on the TPS with the + lead and check your reading. To adjust the TPS, loosen the two screws on the sensor and move the sensor to achive the best reading. You're looking for a reading of .998, the closer you can get it to 1 volt without going over, the better. You may need to open up the slots on the sensor some as well. If your wiring harness is color coded differently, the three wires should be tested with the + lead to fine the sensor output wire. One will be ground, one will have a reading of 5 volts and one will have a reading of less than 1 volt. That's the one your looking for. Do this with the key on, engine off and the throttle closed.
