Tire advice

I got a set of 4 BFG All Terrains (265/75 r16) load range D with a little over 1K miles on them and a spare with no miles it, it is uniroyal's A/T tire, same size. I was going to sell these to a friend and get 285/75r16 firestone destination M/T's. My question is, how much is a reasonable price to ask? I've never bought or sold used tires and these have almost no miles on them. I did take them off road a couple of times maybe 3 times. They were $160 a peice for the BFG's and i think a little over $100 for the spare. My guess was somewhere in $400-$500 range. What is everybodys opinion? Oh yea this is just the tires I am keeping the rims.

lets see 4 BFG X $160 = $600 PLUS THE $100 spare = $700 with 1k miles for $400-$500..sounds like a good deal for him...what about the tax and mounting,and balancing...how about $500 and he cuts your lawn for a year? (-:

BFG's are great tires, absolutely nothing against them. When I bought them the reason i chose them over the Destination M/T's was because we had a beach house on the coast and I wanted the extra tread life because I was making trips very often, but we sold the house recently. But I dont know, i mean these are already paid for.

fordman311, they may have changed, but after having Firestones in the 80s and 90s, I will never use them again. As far as BFGs ATs, I will take them over just about anything.
The Firestones on wet road would immediately lock up when I hit the brakes. The first time this happened, it scared the hell out of me. Unfortunately, that is what came with the truck and at that time I couldn't afford to just go get new tires. The next truck I got had them again, but I changed them out to BFG's right away.
Just my opinion, for me never again with Firestones. As always YMMV.
