I Have A 95' 150 With A 300. Im Use To Having Something That I Can Hear When Im Driving It So This Is Driving Me Crazy. Iv Heard Different Things About How You Cant Make A 300 Sound Good Or That You Can. Im Just Wondering If Any Of You Have Any Ideas. I Understand That Its Not A V8, But Id Still Like To Be Able To Hear Something When Im Driving. And If It Helps With The Performance Thats Even Better.
We have a 92 F 150 shop truck we replaced the exhaust from the cat back with 2.25 straight pipe. Running just the cats it sounds good, throaty deep tone not noisey.
my 84 f-150 has 2 1/4" pipe from the manifold into a 31" glasspack, and out the back behind the pass. rear tire....almost idles lopey, but i think everything on the motor is stock....
we have another 300 with dual 2" pipe, 3" echochambers, no cats, and 22 inch glass packs. it sounds pretty good. i have never heard a flowmaster on a 300, but i imagine it would sound good.
I'm using a flowmaster (70 series? can't remember) on my '84. I'm using the EFI exhaust manifolds, 2 1/2" duals to under the cab, then its single out. Rather quiet till you step on it then it sounds like a combination of a V10 & a diesel. I've gotten quite a few compements on the sound.

On my 84, I've got EFI manifolds to Walker Down Pipe to Mangnalfow Hi Flow Cat to Flowmaster 50 series with 2.5" duals out the back. I think it sounds ok for a 6, specially once you get to turning about 2 grand.
