One thing that would help is for MotorHaven to ship internationally - then we can continue to support FTE financially instead of using other supplier - oh and keep the shiping costs reasonable too
I suppose the problem is numbers Bigf350. They sell over 900,000 F series PA in the states. As a guess I think in Australia we would probably have about 2000 new F series a year.
Say 1% of new F series owners were enthusiastic enough to join FTE that would be 9000 in the US. In Australia it would be 20. 1% is probably optimistic.
The Ranger is the Courier, it is sold as the Ranger everywhere else in the world.
The US gets a slightly different vehicle called the Ranger, essentially its the same though, but for the rest of the world (Europe, Asia, Africa) the Ranger is simply a different badge on a Courier.
You are right about sales volumes, but given the relative lack of knowledge about these vehicles in Australia you would expect a higher percentage to join.
Also that is only Super Duty sales numbers, the number of Courier/Ranger, Explorer and Escape they sell them all around the world numbers are phenominal.
There is also a fair quantity of older F-Trucks running around Australia as well.
People whom stick with FTE are passionate about their vehicles whom are most likley to want to know about ford trucks so they can modify, accessorise or to a lesser extent repair their own. With out trying to be smart, I think in Australia anyway nearly all owners of Couriers, Explorers and Escapes are unlikley to be passionate about those vehicles which aren't really trucks anyway.
So that really leaves only F Series - Even you said earlier that most F trucks are work trucks (In Australia)
The older F trucks? - most are in direpair with the owners only interested in keeping them going.
This isn,t such a bad thing though, I like the exclusivity of driving a good looking modified F250.
Commodores, Falcons are great value for money - But its nice to have something a bit different.
I think that will change though (in Australia).
We usually are a few years behind similar trands in the states.
We are going through the SUV boom that hit the states a few years ago.
They are now going through a "truck" boom, I would imagine that it would come here (prehaps coniciding with the 07 model SuperDuty?)
