tranny slipping?
I think the transmission is starting to slip on my 1973 F-250 camper special, My first question is what transmission is supposed to be in this, the inside of the door says trans code of G (c4) i think? This is a c6 in the truck right now. What's the difference? When Driving it seems to have power but doesn't want to down shift all the time and if i down shift manually it takes awhile for it to go down. I noticed that there is also a line that comes up to the intake from the transmission. The metal line runs to a rubber one then to a junction block of sorts, two of the ports on the junction block are bypassed between each other and the third has a bolt plugging the end? where are these lines supposed to go? No matter what i do the truck will only smoke the tires when wet: when on dry ground the truck seems to bog down. If it were really good brakes would they still spin over with little effort on wet ground, the brakes should still hold the same. Right??? any help is greatly appreciated.
