Question Headlights (low beam) don't work, need help

Help!!! My headlights don't work on my 1996 Explorer. I had this happen in September of 2004 and replaced the multi function switch (turn signal, wipers, highbeams, etc.) and this solved the problem. Yesterday my low beam headlights stopped working. The high beam, turn signal, and flash to pass continues to work. I took my multi function switch and replaced it because it had a lifetime warranty. I installed the switch and the headlights were working again. However, that evening when I go drive the car I find the low headlights are not working again. Today I took the multi function switch out to look at it and it looks perfectly okay. I put the switch back and of course the lights still do not work. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

sounds like you might have a loose wire going to the switch, you will need to test it with an multi-meter. check that the switch is good and then jiggle the wires around to see if somthing is loose.

There are times when the plug going to the switch overheats and melts a little bit. Check the plug and it's prongs very carefully.

I took the multi function switch off and it tested okay. The problem turned out to be just the bulb. I didn't think to check it since both lights were out. Thanks for the help.
