Question Vacuum advance

Have an 82 bronco 302 poped the hood the other day and discovered the vacuum advance was off the distributor, went to put it back on only to discover that I have two vacuum lines off how do I know witch one is the vacuum advance? where does the line run to after the disributor? One of these lines is going up to something on the firewall not sure where the other is going. but both will make it to the distributor.

do you have one port or two on the vacuum adv. if only one then hook the line up to it that originated at the base of the carb.If two then hook the one up from the carb base so that the dist advances and the one from the firewall to the port that retards the unit.

it is a one port. the second vacuum line looks like it heads to the back of the engine but I lose it in all the mess. If it helps any this line has a Y in it near the end so I have one end turning into two lines going back into a squirrel nest of lines.
