Weird low idle/stalling problem

Okay, my truck has been acting funny lately... either that, or my driving ability is getting worse...

When I am driving slowly (for instance, parking (in reverse or 1st), stop-and-go traffic, anything under 10 mph for the most part) and I have the truck in gear, not giving it gas at the moment but have the clutch in, sometimes it'll just stall out. Usually, just after I've moved forward a bit and I let off the gas but haven't put it in neutral yet. Just yesterday I was watching it, in gear w/clutch to the floor, and the idle dropped below 500rpm but then went back up. I don't want to jinx myself so I won't speculate, but does this sound familiar to anyone?

Oh, and I'm not sure if this is related or not, but when driving at a relatively steady speed sometimes I notice that it seems to shake a little. (back and forth it feels like, not side to side) Usually it's right after I put it into 4th or 5th, and usually it's around the lower speed for those gears. (40mph for 4th gear and 50 for 5th, approx.)

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Is it getting enough air and/or fuel. It could be something stupid like a semi-blocked fuel filter, old air filter, fuel pumps not giving enough PSI. I would start with the simple stuff..... check all the filters, fluid levels, plugs & wires, fuel pressure, and ofcourse any codes.

EDIT - I would also check the clutch master and slave since it could be malfunctioning and draging or not engauging.

I was thinking it could be the fuel filter... praying it's not the clutch! It's not throwing any codes that I know of (CEL isn't on or anything like that). I know I didn't change the air filter during my last oil change, so I'll try changing that too... I got new plugs and wires last summer so I'll leave that one out for now (those suck big time). I'll re-post if this keeps happening. It's just kind of strange that it isn't an all-the-time thing... Thanks for the help!

Keep in mind the CEL does not have to be on for the ECU to have stored codes in it.

Oh, I didn't really think of that... I guess I'll go see if it is throwing them then... I guess it makes perfect sense though, thanks! So much for blind optimism...
