Are the COP with the part numbers DG-491 and DG-508 the same?

 

Doubt it. They might list the same applications, but it wouldn't get a new number unless it was revised, or re-sourced.

The only difference is the connector housing, to correct a poor contact issue. Ford created a new part #.

 

Thank you all for your quick response. Now its time for me to track down the faulty COP. I just pulled off the number 4 COP and checked the resistance which was near zero ohms. So it's back to climbing into the engine bay.
