Remote start

Just had a Code Alarm Model CA-530 remote start and remote keyless entry system installed by the dealer. Some nice features. Does anyone have any hacks for this system? Like how to set the engine run time? Set different locking configurations, etc.?

You should have all of that info in your Code Alarm manual. If for some reason you don't have the manual, I believe you can look the manuals up at Code Alarms web site www.code-alarm.com .

Exclamation Caution

I work with allot of Ford Dealers around the DFW area and the FAD (factory authorized dealer) of Ford Accessories. Take caution in "hacking" the system as it can screw with your ignition. The remote start has a device that overrides the "securilock" system (e.g., the chip in your trucks key). Hacks have been known to disable this link or to disable securilock altogether...that is, your truck don't start no more .

With great power comes great responsibility...

we us e a BTPASS kit it learns the code from the keys and operates during remote start only to bypass the security and let it start.
Its about $50 for the part and takes another 10 minutes to install with the remote start, but it works.
