i have a 1990 f150 with the 4.9. today i turned out on the highway and it stumbled, like running out of gas. i switched tanks and noticed when i tried to accelerate it stumbled. made it home. but now it doesnt want to start. when i finally get it started it idles great, but when i try to rev. it up it cuts out. now it doesnt want to restart. i checked the fuel pressure and its above 50 pounds, and holds when the engines turned off. also i watched the fuel pressure, when i did get it started and it stayed up above 50 pounds. ive checked the spark and it looks good. i have the year that has a fuel pump in each tank, none on the rail. its got me stumped. spark and fuel, it should run. anyone have any thoughts on where to look next. also i ran the codes and come up with 32, 62 and 67. 32 says egr pressure feedback fault [85-89] but mines a 90.62 says trans. 4/3 circuit fault. i dont know what that means. and 67 saysac clutch switch fault, i dont know what the ac switch would have to do with the engine running or starting. hate to have to put it in the shop and be at there mercy. hope someone out there has had this problem and found out how to fix.
Code 67 -> you forgot to shut the AC off before collecting codes
Code 32 -> EVP below closed limit -- probably not the cause of rough running
Code 62 -> Can't explain this -- might be a transcription error. What kind of trans do you have?.
From the symptoms, fuel problems was a good bet. Since the fuel pressure appears to be OK, the next most likely thing in my mind is the TFI module or ignition pickup. A weak spark would cause hard starting and lack of power.
