I'm looking to add a small tool set inside my truck, the just in case set. I was wondering what a good one would be, and what size, how many pieces, etc. I have a decent set at home, but the toolbox is too big to carry in my truck since I've added a few things in the back. I am not looking to spend a whole lot of money on it since I have a good set of tools at home, just need something that will help me out if something were to break on the road and I have to fix it there and won't have my tools from home. Any suggestions?
P.S. I hope I posted this in the right spot, sorry if I didn't.
I bought a 138 piece Kobalt tool set for $150 from Lowes. It comes in the perfect case that will fit behind your seat. Comes with every 1/4,3/8, and 1/2" socket and ratchet you will need. Also a multipiece screwdriver and a lot of allen wrenches. Made is USA and has a lifetime gaurentee.
I planned on going with craftsman, thats the set I have now, just trying to figure out how big to go, I have about 200+pcs right now, I'm 18 and working on building up my tools, but I want something smaller than my toolbox I have now to carry in my truck.
Sears has a cheaper brand of tools that they call champion and I seen this automotive size tool kit that they make that I like. I think it costs 40 bucks and it has a good amount of stuff in there. I figure it would be great for some road side repairs.
