Anyone that has vibes have custom tires and wheels?

Hey guys new to the site. Thanks for all the paranoia ive incurred by coming here . I was wondering if any of you that are experiencing vibrations have tried custom tires and wheels on your trucks. I read in a post that one guy who was having vibes discovered that the factory ford rim mounting holes were not directly in the center and were off by a microscopic amount. This caused his vibes. He took the truck in and had the wheels rotated and the offset rims were put to the back which caused it to be even worse.

This is just a hunch!

Thanks!

Wow not one single reply, what a friendly forum :P. Seriously though I am really curious if any of you that have had the vibe issue have tried custom tires and wheels and if so did it make a difference?

Thanks in advance,

No, I don't think they have. I have brought up bad balance as an issue as most balancers can only balance to about 50mph...

Does that apply to Road Force Machines as well?

I have the Pro Comp rims and 35x12.5x17 Super Swamper tires and it still has the vibration. I just got back from the dealer because of the BAD vibration at speeds between 45-60 and of course they told me the vibration was from my aftermarket tire. They know darn well that it is not from the tires. I still think it has something to do with the Driveshaft. Just my two cents.

Guys

I’ve got eagle 17 X 9s and 285 70R/17s on my 7 lug HD payload package. I’ve got the same shimmy at highway speed 65-75+.

I’ve had the tires balanced twice and road forced twice. The second Road Force balancing was done at a tire shop, and it helped a lot, really made the truck livable, right up until I had them rotated. Then the nibble came back . My dealership of course blames my non-OEM wheels and tires even though they all make the 25R1H value that the TSB calls for

I mailed my DSB packet on Tuesday.

Chuck
