Funny you should mention building an engine ahead of time. I did a rebuild of my '95 7.5L two years ago. I used Keith Black 137 hyper flat-top pistons (1.772 compression height), and combined with the F3TE 91.5cc chambers yielded ~9.5:1 compression with the stock 10.322 deck height block.. I also used the Comp Cams 34-255-4 computer-compatible cam (no longer available) and mid-length headers similar to Hedman 89510. Note that I DID do the complete '96-97 CA-spec factory Mass-air conversion. THAT'S how I know what all is needed to convert SD to MAF/ EEC-V, LOL! New Mustang Project interrupted truck, back to truck again with a change up, now I'm thinking about just putting the whole 95' Cab on the 91'.... both are 460's and both Automatics... 91 is 4x4 though. Any under hood wiring night mares come to mind? ECU compatibilities with 91' 460 or speedo or gauge stuff?
There is another choice of ECM that should work. 1994-1997 F53 (motorhome). EEC-IV (OBD-I), AIR, no cat, 245 HP.

That is what I was thinking
The software changes were as much a help as the heads and motor parts
The 95's just have better drivability
The E4OD trans map constantly improved too IMO
