Question on EGR Valve Replacement.....
I have seen it written that, while replaceing the EGR valve, one should be sure and clean any carbon deposits in the opening under the valve itself.
1) What are you supposed to use to clean this? Muscle power and chip it out? Is there a solvent that is intended for this purpose that liquifies it?
2) If it is a chipping out that is done....do you have to worry about the loose carbon going on inside the casting of the engine? Should you use some clever technique with a vacuum cleaner?
In advance, I appreciate any assistance that someone might be able to provide.

There are two holes in the throttle body, to intake elbow that get clogged up and cause a egr low flow problem. Egr valves dont go bad that often. The throttle body and elbow should be removed for cleaning on the bench.
