They didn't put them just under the windshield.
They put them on the door, and stamped into the top frame rail > passenger side between the firewall & rad support.
Plus under the cab ,same frame rail.
Any California connection would be in the DSO code on the rating plate & the red/white valve cover sticker.... driver side.
