If there is enough interest among Central and Southern Illinois members,......... "the racingtouch" ( Steve) is looking to establish a Chapter to reflect the members in that area.

I have added a poll to this thread.

Voice your choice and let's see where it goes.

How about combining Northern IL and Southern WI and NW Indiana?

Illinois Chapter

I prefer to keep this as an Illinois issue.

Members from area states are free to attend our meetings if we are closer than their own state meetings or events.

We need the participation of ALL members to expand.

IF.........the members in Central and Southern Illinois prefer to set off on their own and fullfill the site requirements, I'd support them.

If not, speak up, take part and make a difference.

given that our fair state has quite an milage from north to south I would think that it would be benificial for a northern chapter and a southern chapter. If you are in northern il like me for example a run to southern il could consist of a couple of hours and many miles and with the cost of fuel skyrocketing it makes for a very exspensive fuel bill for some of us.the same would apply to the southerners having to drive that far north.

an idea to consider is regional leaders, still Illinois chapter, but local assistant leaders, and have your events more local, and not as much emphasis on whole state meetings all the time. Kansas does this regularly with much success. Have maybe 3 full state meetings a year, and then focus more locally for the regular events. Of course those who wish can come from anywhere to visit with other members.
