Tranny Lengths
I think I lost my tranny last weekend. I haven't dropped it out of the truck yet to find out for sure. I'm about 90% sure that the tranny has gone south.
Now, I have a couple of questions. I've checked the local salvage yards for replacement transmissions, to replace the Mazda M5OD that I have now will cost about $850 for a used one. The same yard has an AOD for $500, so I'm thinking of switching to the auto. What I need to know is the length of the two transmissions so I can find out if I need to have the driveshafts rebuilt. I can get the measurement from the M5OD, but I need it for the AOD. So if anyone has an '89 4x4 with the AOD, do you now what the length of the transmision is?
Another question I have is, does anyone know if a Borg/Warner 13-56 xfer case from the M5OD will bolt up to an AOD?
