Question is would the WTS light still cycle normal if the relay was bad? I have a 99 PSD that just started acting up in the mourning when starting. Going to check the batteries and Glow plugs tomorrow. Thanks for any answers
The wait to start light is independant of the glow plug relay - if you watch your ammeter you will see it stay low for a bit after the WTS light goes out then it will come up when the glow plugs turn off.

Just had this problem. WTS light was working an voltmeter was up when trying to start, but truck would take 2-3 cycles of the key to start and then would blow a big cloud of white smoke and that was in 35* weather.
Got a GPR on ebay for $20 and that was the problem. The GPR looked great when I replaced it. The great thing is, it is any easy fix and not too expensive to try.
NAPA wanted $56 for it. I have heard of people getting them for $25 at an International dealer.
