am i cursed
the clutch pedal was almost hitting the bottom of the dash.the clip on the inside of the cylinder for my hydraulic clutch was broke and the connecting rod had come out.so here I am on the edge of the field at my grandfathers farm with no clutch( thank god for duct tape).I managed to get back to my house with no problems(other than having duct tape hold my truck together). So I come on to this great site and with a little searching found that i wasnt the only one to have this happen and how to fix it ( so I thought)heres where the fun starts.I go to ford get the new pieces bring them home follow the instructions in the haynes manual bench bleed check for air replace parts wooooh.start the truck very little clutch action(aaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh).its dark by this time so i figure i finish tomorrow.Next day i take everything back apart to try to purge the air out .Bench bled it (aha)couple of more bubbles come up so i figure Ive got it.
Put cylinder back in and move under the truck to reistall the lower cylinder into the side of the transmission went to put it in and the rod to engage the clutch fell into my bell housing(son of a b@#$h) now what.So now im stuck tryin to figure out how to get it out, Ive tried a magnet it sticks to everything but the rod (sigh).any advise would be GREATLY appreciated.
thnx tim
you could try some bubble gum on a stick, and see if you can get it that way.
