I leveled mine out and they ended up about all the way cranked. The ride quality was a little stiffer but not to bad but I did have to align the front end. It was not far off but just enough to wear the tires a little faster.
Lift your front tires off ground, tighten torsion bars all the way and then back them out about 2 full turns...this is the best way that will not have them over tightened and is a good rule of thumb to follow with your torsion bars.
Just out of curiousity how much would ya say it raised the front end? 1", 2" . I was thinking on doing the same with my issue, but if its not gonna raise it no more than and inch than i will scrap the idea.

I raised my 97 a little less than 1.5" with this adjustment.
thats probably good advice bvoncannon, considering the truck has 129,000 on it. Wasnt really sure how the torsion bars would handle beeing cranked up, for i have never done this before and with that much mileage on the truck. I have heard people say that they can become weak over time, but was not sure of this. If i get an inch outta em than good, but if not better safe than sorry.
As a matter of fack I had mine almost all the way up, then someone told me they knew of someone that broke one of theirs b/c they had it too far cranked up. So I backed mine off.
