My 83 f100 has a front brake hose thats on the verge of rubbing through. I have to replace it, but I saw in Summit that they offered a kit for stainless braided (like on the mustangs) for 4wd trucks that have been lifted. Does anyone know if there's such a kit for 2wd's?

If you find a hydraulics shop that makes custom hose, bring in a brake line to them. All they need is the end fitting design & they can make any length you want. Look in the yellow pages for hydraulic hose or hydraulic maintaince. You need a hose that is good for 1,500 PSI with a proof pressure of 3,000 PSI.
I work at a place that makes the hose your talking about, but we send giant reels of it to customers who put their own fittings on.

With the Teflon lined, metal braided hose in place of the rubber lines you will have better response from your brakes. The braided lines expand 100 times less then the rubber which gives you all the force right to the brakes. Got a friends hog outfitted with braided lines. He said he could stop on a dime & give back $.08 change.
