hi all
quick question ? i have a fuel cell on the back of my truck, and i fill it with off road deisel for my backhoe. i was told that off road deisel, home heating oil, and reg. deisel at the pump are almost the same. now my question. if i was to find myself on empty and no deisel station around can i use the fuel in the transfer tank to get me home? i know ist not taxed but will it hurt my truck for a short trip to get to the next fill up?
This farm fuel has a die in it that will stain your truck tank. I believe the die is red. If your ever get caught doing this it could be quite a large fine. I would never do this.
I think the fines can be $25,000 for individual and $50,000 for Biz. Also I have heard that the dealerships will void the warranty if the dye is found. Do the savings outweigh the possible costs? Plus the taxes from the fuel are used for the highways.
