I have a 66 f100 3spd man. with 210,000 miles on it. I was wondering if I need to rebuild it or if I can just replace seals or maybe fill it with alchohol or something to just degunk it
If it is working OK, no excessive slop in shifting, no rough noises while underway or when shifting then I think seals would be OK. Don't attempt to flush it internally. If you have been adding a lot of fresh fluid it has been getting flushed. I am assuming that for that year it just uses standard gear lube. If the gear lube drained out looks OK then you don't need a flush. If you decide to flush, kerosene works well and is compatible with gear oil, I don't think alcohol is.
This of course is dependent on your being able to change seals without disemboweling the trans. If you have to pull the gearsets out to do the seals then it is rebuilding time. You will need a manual to make sure you have all the bases covered.
