chassis no# where????

chassis no# where????
having trouble finding the chassis no# on my 41 heavy duty truck i'm guessing it is on the front of the frame rails but i'd like to know which side and a closer proximity as i know they weren't stamped very deep and i figure i'll have to clean the rail up to find it

still no luck - now i've got 3 chassis no#s to find a 46/47 1/2 truck, a 42 heavy duty and a 41 heavy duty - someone tell me where to look so i can grab the wire brush and see i can find some numbers

Mine is on left frame rail, (driver's side USA),app. 5" or 6" back from the front crossmember. The numbers deteriate over time, mine is difficult to read, but it is there. It usually takes a lot of scrubbing to find them, they are normally covered by years of dirt, grime, and paint.
