I had the spark plugs changed and during that ordeal, the mechanic said he found a vacuum line that was leaking. Located someplace on top he said, near the egr valve. Since the tuneup have gotten better performance out of it and no more service engine light. Got my fingers crossed on that one.
I got under the truck the other day and checked the rear wheel sensor with an ohm meter and the needle stayed at the infinity setting, like it has an open circuit in the sensor. Was going to pull it out but then the Rains started and haven't been under the truck to complete that task.
Question.... How does the speed sensor come out of the rear axle housing? Is there a nut or keeper or something strange that holds it in place? Will probably tackle that thing today if the rain lets up a bit.
Thanks again for all of the help. You guys are great.
Hey thanks guy, appreciate that. As soon as the monsoon lets up here, and the daylight comes I will go out and see what kind of damage I can do. Take care.
Well, another update. I just went to the good old Ford dealership, spent $18 for the sending unit, got it installed and the light now stays off. I did put the ohmmeter on it just for my own info and it did have a minimal reading, forgot what it was but at least it moved like it should have.
I just wanted to say again, Thanks to all of you for you help and patience with me. Take care and have a good week.
I guess we can now assume that this case is closed....
