I didnt UPgrade I just got NEW ones that WAS an upgrade though!! Went to Napa and got loaded ones for 60 bucks I think.
I doubt there's a dual or quad piston caliper set-up for the Broncos but you can upgrade rotors that are cross drilled and use a set of performance brake pads.
Maybe I Wasn't Clear. I'm Not Looking For Something Of The Stock Type Replacement.i Want Something That Will Increase Breaking Performance.
OK. Can't help you there. It's not something that there is much of a demand for. You could try some brake manufacturers such as Brembo - but they could be very expensive. They might make them for other applications but will fit a Bronco.
If you want to increase braking performance, the easiest thing to do is to install ceramic pads. I put them on the otherwise stock front brakes on my Bronco and it stops much better. They also last up to ten times longer than regular pads; they are virtually dust -free; and they are usually silent. I originally put them on to try to stop annoying brake squeal and chatter - and I have never heard a sound from the brakes since.
When I put them on, I was impressed that they met and exceeded all of the manufacturer's claims - better stopping, no noise, and long life. They cost more in the beginning, somewhere around $89-$129 depending on where you get them, but they easily pay for themselves with the long life. They should last as long as it would take to have done 3,4,5 or even more regular brake jobs. I will never go back to the old type of pads again.
I ended up getting the ceramics for free from Goodyear. I had taken the Bronco in to get the warped rotors taken care of but they were too thin to turn, and since it was there I just told them to put new rotors on and new pads while they were down there. They asked me what sort of pads and I just went with the cheapest ones.
Anyway, I had to keep taking it back because the brakes kept on squeaking and chattering while I was driving. They replaced the pads twice, and they still had the same problem. The third time, they decided to give me the ceramic pads, even though I only paid for the cheap ones, because they could not make the brakes shut up. And the ceramic pads cured the problem. Anway, as it turns out, the next time that I was over there, they had found out that they were shipped a defective pallet of brake pads, and that is why mine had never stopped squeaking. So at least they got reimbursed for what they went through on my Bronco. Nobody ever even suspected defective pads. But the ceramic one work great.
I wasn't done though - my new rotors were warping quickly. That turned out to be because of a bad ABS valve and the calipers were dragging. But all is fixed now and I have great, quiet brakes.
BTW - I think that the Goodyear store was using NAPA brake pads.

Wa the ABS light ON??? Mine was from time to time and the one rotor was SHOT. I just did the calipers and rotors on mine and now the ABS light is ON all the time (and I LIKE that) But if the ABS is messed up like yours I may be wearing out my NEW stuff.... Any Info would help!! thanks

Yes, at first intermittently it would come on but towards the end it was on almost all the time, as well as the red brake light. Replaced the valve, which was costly, and the light hasn't come back since and it's been almost three years.

Well I guess Ill have it looked at but I dont want to be getting into alot of $$$, I hope to be gettting an 05 SD so that will be my everyday truck and the Bronco will be one of the winter Plow trucks and thats it. I just did the rears over and had 4.10's put in!!! Its real nice! now the trans needs some going over.... So as you can see the ABS light will have to stay on I jsut needn to see that the caliper is not dragging.

I had gotten to the point where I removed the bulb for the ABS light and for the red brake light because they were on almost constantly and I got tired of seeing them. I didn't realize that they were dragging, and they worked otherwise; and I really didn't care about the ABS. So I removed the bulbs and disconnected the sensor from the diff. But eventually I could tell that something wasn't right. At least my my ABS works now and I put the bulbs back in after the valve was replaced and it's been fine ever since.
