Transmission swap
Hey guys I love this site it is Great and gives me a great deal of information. But I'm in need of some help. I have a 84 F 150 300 cid with a 4 speed overdrive, does anyone know if a 6 speed from a 2003 will bolt up to the motor and line up right. I know I'll have to change the clutch disc, drive shaft, and mounts out also. I plan on doing some fairly heavy towing with this truck and am looking for for lower gear on take off and closer ratios when shifting. Any help anyone could provide would be great appreciated. i doubt it
i believe that they have a different bellhousing bolt pattern
however, i do remember seeing a company a while ago that made bellhousings specifically for swaps between mod motor and SBF motor patterns, i'll try and find them

If the tranny bolts to a Bellhousing that bolts to the 289/300/302/351C, these engines All have the Same bolt pattern for the Bellhousings, then it'll work, otherwise you need an Adapter.
